Caesar Creek State Park

Caesar Creek State Park is a premier 7,900-acre outdoor destination located in southwestern Ohio near Waynesville. Centered around a scenic 2,830-acre reservoir created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the park is known for its rolling hills, steep ravines, and diverse outdoor recreation.

Key Highlights

  • Water Activities & Marina: The lake allows unlimited horsepower boating and features a full-service marina, multiple boat ramps, and a 1,300-foot public swimming beach. It is also a top spot for fishing, particularly for crappie and muskellunge.

  • Trail System: Offers over 40 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Notable routes include the 13-mile Perimeter Trail, scenic waterfall trails, and a swing bridge.

  • Fossil Hunting: Known for exposing Ordovician-era limestone bedrock, the park features a designated spillway area where visitors can hunt for ancient marine fossils (permits required from the visitor center).

  • Camping & Facilities: Includes a large campground with nearly 300 sites, a nature center with interactive exhibits, day lodges, and primitive group/horseman camps.
